Why is timing range so important?

Digital sensors are more sensitive than film and require less time and less radiation to produce an image. The capability to adjust time settings to low levels can eliminate over exposure and provide more control over image contrast. As sensor technology advances and sensitivity increases in the next few years, the abilty to choose low time settings becomes essential.

Why is adjustable kVp and mA so important?
